Lance Storm and Mike Awesome came down to the ring as the PPV began.
Lance Storm took the mic: "If I can be serious for a minute, without being interrupted, tonight will be a defining moment in the history of this business for a variety of reasons, all of which I will devulge now..."
Edge & Christian's theme hit, interrupting Storm, and out came the former 7 time tag team champions. Christian held Edge's King of the Ring trophy as they came down to the ring.
Christian started off with Mike Awesome and quickly took control on the big man. Edge was tagged in and continued to work on Awesome. However, Awesome tagged in Storm and they began to double team Edge. Edge countered Storm with a huracanrana, followed by a second rope dropkick to Storm and a dropkick to Awesome. Storm ran at Edge, but was tossed up and over the rope hard onto his partner, Mike Awesome.
Edge bent over in the ring near the ropes, then Christian ran at him and catapulted himself over the ropes, but his legs got caught and he blew the spot, falling almost on his face. The crowd let him hear it.

Mike Awesome looked a little slow in this match for some reason. Lance Storm seemed sharp, however.
Mike Awesome climbed to the top rope and hit a huge Awesome Splash onto Christian, who was deep in the ring, far from Awesome's corner. Big spot there. Awesome then picked up Christian on the top rope and prepared for the Awesome Bomb, but Christian backbody dropped him over and down onto the mat.
Both Christian and Awesome crawled over to their partners, Storm was tagged in and Edge was finally tagged in. Edge ran in and cleaned house on everyone. He hit the Edge-O-Matic on Storm, but Storm kicked out.
In the ring, Storm rolled up Edge in a small package, but the referee was distracted by Mike Awesome. Christian ran in and put Edge on top of Storm, but the ref only made a two count. Christian went to the top and hit a double clothesline on Awesome and Storm. Edge tried to spear Storm, but Storm leap frogged in and Edge nailed Awesome with a spear.
